It’s always a bit egotistical having a website for yourself, but nonetheless if you want to know more about my research, on-going projects, or how to contact me, then browse away!
My interests are in Human-Computer Interaction and Extended / Augmented / Mixed / Virtual Reality, in-particular around:
- Perceptual manipulation, and how we might stretch the boundaries of perceived human capabilities in XR to benefit immersion, engagement, accessibility
- Deceptive and manipulative design, and the risks/harms/vulnerabilities exposed by emerging and intersecting technologies such as spatial computing and AI
- Motion and cybersickness, and how we might unlock new use cases such as passenger use of XR and generate new insights into motion perception
- Interaction design and ergonomics, such as around everyday augmented reality and mobile interactions, or the use of virtual workspaces …amongst many other topics.
I’m always on the look out for project students (if you are an undergraduate at UoG) and PhD students (if you either have a scholarship application in mind or are targeting our School scholarships), and am open to lab visits and hosting - but keep in mind we don’t typically have funds available to support these, so you’d need to consider funding via available national and international partnership schemes (RSE for example).
